Install adobe air sdk flash builder 4.712/29/2023 ![]() I also cannot get 3.6 to work completely. I'm tired of this now, I should end my post here. Terry Paton, who is a wonderful game developer, use to be loyal to Flash/AIR Platform, but now he has transitioned to Unity, which is good for him and I hear great things about it every day on social network sites from him, and we Flash Developers, whatever number we are left get annoyed every now and then. I know Adobe has very less or no value at all for our feedback, this one may be a minor issue, but it hugely affects my workflow. I wish FlashDevelop or FDT get their issues sorted and add better mobile support so I can completely dump Flash Builder and free my mind from so much frustration to concentrate on my creative work. Thanks Adobe! You guys never miss a chance to annoy us.Īnyway, I think I'll stick with FB 4.6 as long as I could and use those advance features like Telemetry, etc from command line. WTF!!!!!? We asked them to decouple AIR and Flex SDKs and give us an easy SDK Manager to handle all the different kinds of SDKs, but they screwed up everything once again. Also, I can't see "Configure SDKs" option anymore, instead there is a new ugly "Update SDK" option, which tries to connect to internet all the time. I can't find that drop down menu to Select different Flex/AIR SDKs, which used to be in FB 4.6 when you make a new project. Rather than making it easier, things have got more worse than Flash Builder 4.6 in FB 4.7 You'll also need the latest Flash Player, to be found here (3.5) or here (3.6 beta).Īdobe has created an official documentation on how to upgrade the SDK. Now start up FB 4.7, and it should use AIR 3.5/3.6 (whatever you installed). Make sure that the contents of those two folders look the same if they are, you have set it up correctly. Then rename the new SDK to "AIRSDK" instead. Now, this directory already contains a folder "AIRSDK". (I guess in Windows it's "c:\program files\Adobe Flash Builder 4.7." instead. Applications/Adobe Flash Builder 4.7/eclipse/plugins/_4.22 But NOT from the usual place.Įxtract this archive, and copy it to the following path (OS X): So, after installing FB 4.7, get the latest AIR version from here: Thus, you should upgrade to AIR 3.5 directly after the installation.Īnd this is where Adobe created two stumbling blocks for us:ġ) You have to download the right SDK! Yes, now there are two, and you have to pick the one that includes the new ASC 2 compiler.Ģ) The SDK needs to be put to a different place now. □įurthermore, a fresh install contains the already outdated AIR 3.4, which produces lots of compiler errors (at least on my system). ![]() Different to what some of us had hoped, the SDK update process didn't get much easier with Flash Builder 4.7.
